Following successful !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and starting my sweet new job this week, I took the Jeep up to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for some offroading with a former coworker and his wife, then hit !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (another ORV park near Flint, MI) on the way back home because why not? Photos below, including an insane red LS1-powered XJ.
Trail photos not cooperating, will add later.

Whenever I see "XJ" I immediately think of this:
Either way, looks like a great time! What's going on in the trunk of the red one? I've been staring at it for a minute and I can't figure out what those things on the roll bars are.

Lol thanks :P and I believe it was an on-board fire containment system.

Do you mean the large things on the rear downbars or the silver-and-blue things on the horizontal cross bar?

Now that looks like a good day. How far did you make it up the flex ramp?
You've ruined me, by the way. Every time I see the word "Yamaha" I initially misread it as "Yamahog"

The big things on the downbars. Yamahog said she thought they were an on-board fine containment system.

This is what I was gonna ask. Large things - ???. Yamahog said fire suppress system.
Blue and silver - part of shocks, the reservoirs.

Cool! That would make sense actually. Damn, this post is making miss my dad's XJ. He had a dark green one with Cragar Soft 8's, so similar to your wheels. Not as much of a lift as your XJ though.

I'm inclined to agree with her. That does look like the tank for an onboard suppression system. Unless it's the NOS of course ;)

You are correct on the shock reservoirs. I'm in agreement on fire suppression for the big tanks on the down bars.

Damn, that's hardcore. Bet that thing gets up and goes like no one's business. I feel like a wuss not for not wanting to cut into my bed now.
Y'all seem to have some nice mudpits up there, at least from I've seen. Maybe I should add Michigan to my great American road trip, haha.

Daaaammmnnn, thats some serious suspension.

Personally, I'm hoping for NOS.

It was :) And that was as far as I went on that ramp. I could've gone a bit further suspension-wise, but it looks like I didn't take enough off the fenders, tires would be rubbing.
Also that's hilarious. We passed a truck with a giant Yamaha decal and I did the same thing.

Personally this comes to mind

Fenders are overrated. You should just get rid of them.

I've lately had an urg for an early 4.0l 5 speed XJ. I will not accept an auto or a v8 tho. Off to CL!

I already have no flares, and I trimmed up the sheet metal about as far as I can go without smacking into (or relocating) the washer bottle. Not that the windshield sprayer works all the time, but some days it does.
